There’s no easy way to just copy apps from the device to a backup card, unless you do that as you download them. Once they go onto your unit and install they (mainly) go to the /usr/bin folder and you need to be in the terminal as root… not a fun place for most people looking to point and click.

I think I am going to actually try and get in the habit of downloading, then installing, rather than as a single process… to save myself some time later…

I’ve downloaded the Internet Tablet Updater and am now downloading the BIN file so that I can add it myself. But I’m patiently waiting on your instructions for doing the backup. Is it possible, if I’ve already installed certain things on the memory card to just copy them somewhere?

Best way on OSX is with 770flasher.app — http://www.bleb.org/software/770/

I’ve used it on past updates… have yet to try with this one. If you click the mac and linux link above, you can download the binary and then use the flasher app. If I recall correctly you should remove your memory cards before flashing
