N800 gets an official OS2008 Release

If you’ve been waiting or wondering how to get the new OS2008 release on your N800, today’s your lucky day… Thoughtfix notes that it is finally official and can be downloaded right away! 

I can’t test this until tonight so please report any issues you might find.  Good Luck and have fun with the new OS!

    Could this mean, that the possible problems of OS2008 are fixed, and the wider distribution of N810 can begin… Hope so.

    OS2008 Available NOW??

    Nokia’s Europe site says that OS2008 is out for the N800 and everyone is encouraged to upload it. http://europe.nokia.com/A4305010

    When I try to do so I get a message on the installer saying that no automatic update is available. When I go to the Maemo site that Nokia recommends for manual updates http://maemo.org/downloads/nokia_N800 I get a message that the site doesn’t exist.

    Nokia’s USA site still does not list the OS2008 upgrade as being available.

    So, it looks like it is almost here as of 12/18/2008 - but not yet.
