Maemo XGalaga

Posted in Applications at 8:16 pm by Jonathan Greene

One of my all time favorite arcade games appeared in the Maemo Extras repository recently and I’ve been enjoying a few rounds of Galaga daily since installing it. Maemo XGalaga is a really nice port of this classic and runs very efficiently on the tablet.

Don’t bother unless you’re a hardcore user. It doesn’t work out of the box, you need to eat pills and hunt for files and use the command line, etc. :D

Not sure I follow … I installed with a single click and can play without any issues.

Doesn’t install for most people. Obvious if you search around. Even the person who ported it has written that it won’t install with a single click (old post, admittedly). I really wish I could install this, but it just won’t. I am not comfortable with the command line. [BTW I have an N800 with the non-beta OS08.]

UPDATE–it installed for me in red pill mode only. I installed the lib first too. Looks like fun now…
